The Ragepick clan has undergone a meteoric rise in recent decades. Its miners have always led the world in mineral extraction, but for centuries they were limited to trading with the only smiths with enough demand: the Steelfist Clan. They fiercely fought unification with Denholm, fearing further economic and political subjugation, because the Steelfists would have even more trade with Denholm, while the Ragepicks would face increased resistance to exportation. They could never have expected the true outcome.
The Steelfists remained the main suppliers of arms and armor to Denholm for nearly a century. However, early in his reign, elder Zhenkov realized that unification allowed not only easy trade with Trendleheim, but also with the foundries of mainland Denholm. Zhenkov began financing, with what little liquid funds the clan held, new industries and forges in Denholm, to whom he then sold iron and other material. Within a few years, the Steelfists had been completely undercut, and were rapidly in decline. Meanwhile, the development of industry increased demand for raw materials, and suddenly the Ragepicks were thrust into wealth and influence they had never before held.
